BVCA ACTIVITIES:-

• To provide family to destitute/orphan/abandoned child through adoption.
• Prepare the central list of children legally free for adoption.
• Prepare the list of waiting prospective adoptive parents.
• Prepare home study report for interested prospective adoptive parents (PAP's)
• Provide pre & post adoptive counseling services.
• Conduct awareness programme for adoption.
• Coordinating with allied system like, State Government, Central Government, Judiciary, Medical fraternity etc.
• Collaboration with other organization/agencies working for adoption or child welfare.
• Sensitization programme for child rights.

PROCESS OF ADOPTION:

• Prospective parents should register with local adoptive coordinating agency (ACA).
• A home study of prospective parent is conducted by the professional qualified social worker to know whether the family environment is suitable for the personality development of the child
• During the home-study social worker tries to know the reason for adoption and also to know the emotional, financial & physical status of the prospective parents
• If home-study is found satisfactory by the social worker then the couple is sent to placement agencies which keep children from where a child is placed for adoption, who has been declared legally free for adoption.

DOCOMENTS REQURIED AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION FOR ADOPTION:

• Birth certificate of prospective parents.
• Income certificate /proof of financial status.
• Marriage certificate.
• Updated medical certificate
• Medical report by Gynaecologist.
• Description of other properties.
• HIV report of prospective adoptive parents
• Pair photograph of PAP's (4 copies)
• Single passport size photo of couple (4 copies)
• Consent letter of wife .(specially for Hindu)
• 4 reference letters (family & friends)
